Windsurf Equipment

All qualified windsurfing guests will be able to use the advanced equipment, included with your package. Because advanced windsurfers are sailing on their own, you are expected to be proficient enough to self-rescue. Anyone requiring a motorboat rescue (as opposed to a kayak rescue) will be charged a small fee for a motorboat pickup of $50 per pickup. Guests may buddy-up and rescue each other using kayaks to avoid this additional charge.

Below is a list of the upgraded fleet of new 2010 JP boards and Neil Pryde sails available at Vela Belize. In addition to this list there is a full range of older model boards (Starboard, Mistral, Exocet, and Real Wnd) and sails (Ezzy, Naish, Sailworks, Northsails, Loftsails) to choose from. As at any other Vela center we recommend that you bring your own harness, though a small number of DaKine harnesses are available.

SAILS

NEILPRYDE HELLCAT 6.2, 7.2		Looking for performance but not looking for cams? This sail is perfect for flat water freeriding. It’s light and easy to use, whilst being fast and responsive…it will thrill. Hellcat’s unique offering is the best drive and speed out of any of the cam-less sails.

JP AUSTRALIA FREESTYLE WAVE 85, 102		Very sporty All-In-One boards. They cover it all - bump and jump, freestyle and real wave sailing. Easy enough for every slightly advanced rider but at the same time exciting for the experts. Great jumpers! Loose enough to be called wave boards and fast enough to chase your friends around. Probably the most versatile boards ever produced.
JP AUSTRALIA X-CITE RIDE 120		A board created to help make it easy to control and allow to anyone to go fast. Fantastic early planing freeride boards which offer a quite unique riding sensation as they go so fast, so comfortably. It will never get out of control. It feels very crisp and light under foot as well as very responsive to foot steering. A fun jiber ? for the advanced who will enjoy its carving jibe abilities, as well as for the short board beginner, who needs a forgiving board.
JP AUSTRALIA FUN RIDE 145		Super easy going freeride boards based on the X-Cite Ride shape concept with additional control and super easy jibing. Fun boards made for short board beginners and advanced freeriders who look for boards which demand very little input and offer great fun. They almost sail themselves.
