The Yachts

Yachts in the Highland Spring HIHO event are provided by The Moorings, the world's largest charter boat company. Our fleet consists of catamarans between 40 and 47 feet in length. Each yacht includes a captain who has been picked because he's competent, fun and eager to make your week of adventure as fun as it can be! 

Moorings cats in the event have 4 cabins each with en-suite bathroom (called a head). The yachts are spacious, comfortable and fast. A large cockpit with a bimini top is ideal for relaxing. The interior includes a kitchen (called a galley), plus safety equipment, a stereo system, linens, towels, etc. The cats all have a dinghy, which is hoisted aboard when underway. There is plenty of storage space for your gear.

Big catamarans are perfect for a windsurfing & water sport adventure like Highland Spring HIHO. Cats can accommodate up to 10 fully rigged sails, plus boards. It's possible to rig aboard the cats and keep everything ready to go with a moment's notice. Cats are also ideal for those unfamiliar to boat life as they don't roll at anchor and are much more stable under sail. With plenty of deck hatches and portholes, the cats offer comfortable sleeping with plenty of breeze pouring through your cabin at night.

Yacht accommodations are per person double cabin occupancy. Come as a couple and share a cabin, otherwise you will be assigned a cabin mate. Be advised that each cabin has just one berth. If you prefer you may pay a supplemental charge and have the privacy of a cabin to yourself. Please note that cabin assignment is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Air Conditioned Accomodations

Highland Spring HIHO participants now have the option to book air conditioned moorings 4600 catamarans. Fast, spacious and very comfortable, these fully air conditioned boats offer a “cooler” accommodation option. While A/C is, by no means, a requirement aboard a boat in the BVI’s in the Summer it does offer a pleasant environment in which to mix your rum cocktail and more efficiently bang out those Facebook updates at the end of a day of racing & adventure.
