Wind Reports and Weather
The famous wind of North Brazil starts to be really strong and consistent in this region. The more west you travel from here, the more wind you find. Icarazinho offer slightly less wind then Jericoacoara with normally 4,7 – 5,3 during the high season; June-December. As along the rest of the coast, you will find the strongest wind during mid day and the afternoons. During the mornings you will have lighter winds which are perfect for beginners and practicing a new trick. Or just sleep in…
Icarazinho offers a diverse and amazing windsurfing spot (or spots). It reminds a lot of Jericoacoara, as both places are situated in bays with specific wave points. ClubVentos Icarazinho center has its porch right on the beach on the upwind side of the bay, just next to the point.
You will find a big flat water area by the center, which is protected by a reef. During low tide the reef sticks up outside this area and stops nearly all water movement , and you will have the whole bay as a perfect freeride / freestyle area. Most part of the inner bay is waist / shoulder deep which makes it a perfect beginner spot, especially during the mornings with lighter winds. As the tide raises smaller waves appear which are perfect for easy wave practice.
Three minutes upwind sailing from the freeride / freestyle area you will find Icarazinho’s wave spot. A reef, combined with fishermen’s old wood logs creates a break for the more advance waverider / jumper. Brawzinho and Kauli had no problem doing double forwards during our stop here in December.

Hey, everyone!
windy news from Brazil are knocking at your door.
After a super strong September, Icarazinho had a calm weekend (might be that the lighter wind was arranged by fishermen who can't fish with such strong winds), but now sails range from 4.5 to 4.7 again. Almost everyone are ripping hard in the water right now even when you read this message. Others are taking their first steps in the water and learning with our instructors how to be friends with the wind.
Not to mention georgeous sunsets and evening caipirinhas...come and experience everything by yourselves.
windy regards!

Hi everyone,
Here in Icaraizinho the high season is on!!! We are sailing every day with JP/Pryde and Starboard brand new equipment. 4.7 is obviously the favourite sail for here.
Better than any words did you check our exciting new media project RIDE OF THE DAY
The concept is simple: one fresh new movie, every day. Directly from the media powerhouse that delivered productions like ClubVentos Beach Search and Life-ClubVentos.
We have implemented a fast production routine that we call "fresh-sushi": rush from the water, to the edit-deck, to the web, in record time. In some days we have the movie onlin
e in less than one hour after shooting. These near-live, one-minute-long broadcasts will mix action riding, lifestyle, and humour.
Check it everyday on this page, ClubVentos facebook or youtube page or www.clubventos.com/rod

ClubVentos has now a dedicated page on Facebook and Twitter. Add it to your favourite's pages or follow our updated tweets and exclusive news to keep in contact with your two little windsurfing paradises.

| 2010 A SPECIAL YEAR |
|
Since now it’s been one full year that the trade winds that built our reputation did not stop… Although a low season exists from Feb to June, it was still blowing consistently and steadily nearly every day at this time. The beginning of 2010 was an awesome wind surprise! Ad to this unusual phenomena, the fact that it was the wavy period of the year, it resulted one of the best wave riding sessions of the season, for the very few lucky windsurfers present.

In 2010 a singular wind phenomenon occurs: a surprisingly long windy period with almost no rain season. Trying to find answers, we investigated at the “Fundação Cearense de Meteorologia e Recursos Hídricos”, the climatology organization of the state of Ceara . We found out weather forecasts showing that the highest probability of rainfall was below average in the state in 2010. According to the specialists, the main factor was the role of El Niño. They noticed that the surface of the equatorial Pacific Ocean was still at a higher temperature than the normal, which characterizes the phenomenon. This climate pattern that occurs on average every five years brings changes in ocean currents and upwelling that induce modifications in surface temperature of the sea. Then, it affects the rainfalls that directly alter the strength of trade winds. To make it simple it means that without rainfall at this time, the wind doesn’t stop. Indeed, the happy ending is that our interviewers’ conclusions were a stronger possibility to have wind earlier and which stops later in 2010-2011.
We are waiting for you so be the first to be on the spot... Icaraizinho is opening early July and the wind is already blowing !!!

ClubVentos of Icaraizinho received also its new 2010 boards... These are the boards you are currently dreaming on, or there is the board you planed to buy when your shop is going to receive it…You can already use these 2010 boards everyday at Club Ventos Icaraizinho. If you want to be the first to enter in the foot straps we advice you to book quickly.
About the conditions: The wind is blowing every day at this moment of the year. At low tide it is better to sail a little bit downwind where it is safe and flat. At high time go more upwind to catch the waves on the reef of Icarai. Take enough speed and you will arrive full speed on this wave to satellized yourself.
Still enjoy the relaxing and really friendly atmosphere of the ClubVentos after your sessions

Fortunately the wind is kicking in like hell every single day. That means that it is "pumping" every day for sailsizes between 3.7 and 5,0.
And by the way, despite the slightly sketchy swells by the beginning of september, there is still plenty of radical wave action, because there are lovely waves and ramps pealing across the reef of Icaraizinho.
The local guys are like ripping on fire and keeping the crowds (actually there are not many crowds: thats why its so nice and tranquilo here ;)) busily blew to the action.
So make sure you check in any time you like, respectively right now, right here!!!

Finally the gear is perfectly set up and anxiously yearning for the wind to kick in for starters. Despite the pretty convincing forecasts we had only a few good days in the beginning of August. The wind predominantely blew between 11 and 18 knots
and a little bit gusty by the beginning of August. So by the middle of July it was about time for the wind to start pumping. And it gradually picked up. And we had mind-blowing conditionswith sail sizes ranging between 4.0 and 5.8.
Perfect for beginners, advanced and recreational sailors. And the lagoon is luckily only shared with some turtles and the boats of the local fishermen.

Actually March is the best month to catch some nice swells that arrive from the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Unfortunately the winds dropped of considerably. So you are able to surf planing with a windsurfer only 10 days.
Unless you dig on Formula boarding and sail sizes beetween 6.0 and 8.5. With the "Jumbo"-equipment you can probably catch more than 20 days of surfing.
But for those who are passionate wave-sailors there are only a couple of days for radical wavesailing.

Now February, our center in Icaraizinho closed after its first high season. After we receive feedback of the clients who went there in 2008, our new Vela Center will be on the way to become as Vela Jericoacoara: same quality on services, qualified staff and following the Vela's philosophy: always offer the best, in good style.
We want to thank to all the clients who had the chance to go there and try our second paradise and gave their opinion of how the center should develop. And…we also invite you all to come and taste a piece of our other paradise in 2009! We promise to provide you the best vacation of your life!
