Wind Reports and Weather

What would you say about a spot that was consider one of the best of the world for windsurfing by Andre Paskowski, Kevin Pritchard and Kauli Seadi?? The other paradise after Jericoacoara, was discovered at the end of 2007 and got into the windsurf world in 2008, with a soft-oppening of our new center. This year, the center will be vastly improved and ready to receive you, with the unique quality that Vela always offers to guests. The conditions are very similar as Jericoacoara, constant wind from July till end of January and flat water, for whom wants to practice and learn windsurfing.

ClubVentos of Icaraizinho received also its new 2010 boards... These are the boards you are currently dreaming on, or there is the board you planed to buy when your shop is going to receive it…You can already use these 2010 boards everyday at Club Ventos Icaraizinho. If you want to be the first to enter in the foot straps we advice you to book quickly.

About the conditions: The wind is blowing every day at this moment of the year. At low tide it is better to sail a little bit downwind where it is safe and flat. At high time go more upwind to catch the waves on the reef of Icarai. Take enough speed and you will arrive full speed on this wave to satellized yourself.

Still enjoy the relaxing and really friendly atmosphere of the ClubVentos after your sessions

SEPTEMBER 30, 2009

Fortunately the wind is kicking in like hell every single day. That means that it is  "pumping" every day for sailsizes between 3.7 and 5,0.
And by the way, despite the slightly sketchy swells by the beginning of september, there is still plenty of radical wave action, because there are lovely waves and ramps pealing across the reef of Icaraizinho.

The local guys are like ripping on fire and keeping the crowds (actually there are not many crowds: thats why its so nice and tranquilo here ;)) busily blew to the action.
So make sure you check in any time you like, respectively right now, right here!!!

AUGUST 26, 2009

Finally the gear is perfectly set up and anxiously yearning for the wind to kick in for starters. Despite the pretty convincing forecasts we had only a few good days in the beginning of August. The wind predominantely blew between 11 and 18 knots
and a little bit gusty by the beginning of August. So by the middle of July it was about time for the wind to start pumping. And it gradually picked up. And we had mind-blowing conditionswith sail sizes ranging between 4.0 and 5.8.
Perfect for beginners, advanced and recreational sailors. And the lagoon is luckily only shared with some turtles and the boats of the local fishermen.

Now there are still waves but hardly any more days with strong winds. But nevertheless the stage is still perfectly for kitesurfing and waveriding for example.
Or if you fancy going out with a wave - kayak or a stand-up-paddle board there is still a lot of fun to be had on the water.

MARCH 30, 2009

Actually March is the best month to catch some nice swells that arrive from the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Unfortunately the winds dropped of considerably. So you are able to surf planing with a windsurfer  only 10 days.
Unless you dig on Formula boarding and sail sizes beetween 6.0 and 8.5. With the "Jumbo"-equipment you can probably catch more than 20 days of surfing.
But for those who are passionate wave-sailors there are only a couple of days for radical wavesailing.

FEBRUARY 06, 2009

Now February, our center in Icaraizinho closed after its first high season. After we receive feedback of the clients who went there in 2008, our new Vela Center will be on the way to become as Vela Jericoacoara: same quality on services, qualified staff and following the Vela's philosophy: always offer the best, in good style.

We want to thank to all the clients who had the chance to go there and try our second paradise and gave their opinion of how the center should develop. And…we also invite you all to come and taste a piece of our other paradise in 2009! We promise to provide you the best vacation of your life!
