County officials in Maui are working in close negotiations to allow for a new permit application process to get our favorite private guest homes back on the listings for your vacation plans. Paia Inn: Located in the heart of charming Paia Town and just steps away from a beautiful white sand beach, Paia Inn is a hip hotel on the Northshore of Maui. This smal- town upscale boutique-hotel offers a haven of relaxation in the popular town of Paia, which has a variety of cafes, bars, restaurants, galleries, and boutiques to explore and enjoy. The newly renovated hotel (originally established in 1962) offers luxurious and comfortable rooms, a chic lobby lounge, a shady garden patio, and private beach access.

Nalu Kai Lodge: Simple. Clean. Cozy. This is a great place to stay in Paia on a budget. The property has just gone through some extensive renovations and is now complete! With 8 guest rooms and a 1BR apartment. Conveniently located in the center of Paia town. You are just steps away from restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and Paia Bay Beach Park. Note that because of this ideal location, there is town noise.

Kaiholo Hale: The newest private vacation rental on the Northshore, and it's LEGAL! With 5 bedrooms, 6 1/2 bathrooms with double showers, modern kitchens, and living rooms with large TV's, DVD players & stereos. Each suite has new a/c units in each bedroom and living room as well as WiFi throughout the house. Each floor has a private lanai for barbecuing, relaxing in the sun, and star gazing at night. Maui By The Sea: Legally permitted as a vacation guest-house, this is a beautiful rental only 150 feet from the shoreline and 200 yards from the beach at Tavares Bay! With a private 1BR cottage in a two-story plantation-style unit with gorgeous views of the ocean, you can sit back and relax on the private covered lanai and enjoy the view! Truly a great vacation rental for beach and water sports lovers, with a great ambiance and location. It’s the perfect place for your honeymoon!

Kihei Beach Resort: This moderately sized six story beachfront property located in North Kihei, has become a new favorite for Vela guests. Fronting the property is Sugar Beach, well known for it’s romantic sunsets, great swimming, miles of unspoiled strolling beach and seasonal whale watching. Plus, you are only 1 minute from the highway to connect to the sailing on the North Shore a short 20 minute drive away. Or, simply cruise 5 minutes North and you can sail the launch at Sugar Beach!

Kihei Bay Surf: Kihei Bay Surf is a simple and clean economical property located across the street from the small whale sanctuary park towards the north end of Kihei. These units are clean, comfortable and well equipped. If you plan to be out exploring all day, these studios will provide perfect lodging. Central location makes it quick to get to the North Shore, up to the West end, or down into Wailea/Makena.

Maui Sunset: Located on over 5 acres of oceanfront at Kihei, noted for its year round sunshine, balmy trade winds, and soothing evening air. You can windsurf or kite RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE PROPERTY! Access to a large on-site storage locker on the ground level will now make it easier than ever to choose the Southshore for your trip to Maui!
